This potty business is for the birds!!!!

The one thing that I 'dislike' being a parent, well thus far in our stage of the game is....potty training! I'm so not good at it and it gets the best of me.  I try so hard to time myself, so I know when I need to get him to the potty, but seems I fail more times than 1!  Now, Colin, has used the potty, knows what to do, and yet still finds his way off the potty and pees in his underwear.  UGH!!!!!  This weekend, wasn't so good, but he did tinkle on his porta-potty downstairs.  I know this all takes time and I think I probably started way to early (when he turned 2) and gave it up about 3-4 mths into it, b/c he wasn't ready.  I had to do the same w/ Ethan and he was almost 4, before he was fully potty-trained, so I know this is a process and truly, I'm ok with it I just wish there was a magic wand to finalize the process much quicker =)  However, it's moments like this, that I've come to the realization that I truly am done having children.  I'm convinced FINALLY that Colin was given to us, to complete our family, and I feel very blessed w/ our boys!  Brenton knew....well, when we found out we were pregnant again, that he was done and wanted no other children....me, I wasn't ready to make that decision and opted out of making it 'final' during my c-section and truly, I'm glad I did.....I found that I did need time for my heart and head to come to the same conclusion, I'm finally there!  These little guys are starting to keep us hopping and we are finally at a stage where they can go overnight, so Brenton and I get some free time.  That is huge and I want to continue that w/ my husband, so we can keep our relationship strong!  Overall, as I sit here trying to figure my plan of attack on this potty business, I smile inside, b/c I know that one day I will look back and want them back......ok, maybe not the potty training days.....hahaha!!!

Manic Monday

Today, was a crazy, busy day.....Started out getting Colin up to my parents, so I could then turn around and head to Canton to get Ethan to the dentist.  OMG, what an event that was, too.....He did so good last time, but today, a nightmare!!!!  Unfortunately, we have to make a pretty big decision on his part, b/c he needs to get some teeth taken care of and unless he does some improving by July 24, it's the OR for him to get everything taken care of.  So, needless to say, my boys are going to be blessesd w/ their Daddy's teeth.....Oh well, atleast it's going to be taken care of and then we can get back to a regular routine.....

The day ended w/ a fun night at the ball diamond.....Ethan, started his 1st year at T-ball and he had so much fun.  We have a lot to teach him and he has a lot to learn, but he said he liked playing, so that means we will be spending some quality time at the ball diamonds this Spring, I'm sure....our little slugger did really well though for it being his first time.....had some good hits, learned his bases, and also learned sportsmandship, etc.....he had a ball and I look forward to next week.....Go Winfield Yellow!!!!

Easter Weekend

Easter has always been one of my favorite times of the year.....it's a new, fresh start of the year and I welcome it every single year.  As the boys get older, the holiday's are filled with more fun and enjoyment, simply b/c they are into it.  This Easter, Brenton and I, decided that we needed to fulfill our boy's wish of a new Power Wheels and so the mission began.....After 4 calls to the local Wal-Mart's, we found the one that daddy wanted them to have.....F150 Raptor sxt w/ a working radio to boot! =)  Brenton was too cute about the whole thing and was so proud of it.....so glad we are at a point in life that we are able to do these types of things on a whim!  We had a super long weekend and the fun began on Good Friday....we got the boys to the church for an egg hunt in the morning and they enjoyed it for the most part.....Ethan, was so proud of his basket full of eggs and Colin, found 1 and was done =)  On Saturday, we headed back out to Sugarcreek to spend the day w/ Brenton's family and what a great day.  I went along w/ the big kids and we went on a journey at the park and headed into the nearby field.....hearing the imagination of the kids was too cute, so glad I went along!  When we got the boys home, after our day with the Shroyer's, we planted our "magic beans" and got ready for bed.  The boys slept like logs and then were up by 6:30 coughing, snotty noses, and pretty cranky!  However, they still enjoyed finding their baskets and played for a few more hours.....unfortunately, b/c of the hacking, we decided to stay home and have our own little church service with the "Easter Story Eggs" I made for the boys!  It turned out great and Ethan asked a lot of questions, but Colin is just too young yet to understand.  To finalize our Easter holiday, we headed back to Sugarcreek to spend Easter Sunday with my parents and had a good day!  We always have lots of food, fun, presents, and a nap somewhere in there too =)  The boys had a lot of fun w/ the egg hunt, my mom got dinosaur filled eggs and Ethan ate that all up.  Colin, well, he wasn't feeling good and slept most of the day away after eating hot dogs.  Overall, we had a fun Easter weekend and even though the boys ended up not feeling good, we are on the mend and now just dealing w/ coughs......

Easter Fun

Well, like I said, the Easter holiday fun has started at our house and we have been enjoying it so much. This year, thanks to Pinterest, Easter Bunny got some really cute ideas for baskets and I'm super excited to see how the boy's react to them.....I spent a good bit of the day on Sunday, trying to get everything prepared for this weekend and I feel I got alot accomplished.....here are a few pics of the cute treats I did for the baskets:

Colin's stuff
Ethan's!!!
Brenton and Colin weren't feeling too well on Sunday, so while they napped, I was able to get the above done and also get Ethan outside to play while the sun was shining.....That little guy, is so excited to play T-ball this year, so we got out his bat, ball, and glove and practiced.....he had a ball!

so excited to play ball this year....

Also, while Colin and Daddy get some much needed rest, Ethan and I, decided to try making our own Bunny S'mores.....they were sooooo yummy!!!

Finally, after Daddy and Colin woke up, we were able to get the Easter eggs done for the Easter Bunny, too.  Although, Colin really didn't care for them, Ethan loved everything about it.  While Colin looked on in amazement, Ethan was throwing the dang things into the dye cups....Only 2, well I guess 3 (Colin broke 1, too) were cracked, but that was ok, b/c I love hard boiled eggs and so I took the honor in eating them...LOL

Something new we are about to try with the boys, as a tradition each year now, are these Easter Story Egg's.  We've been trying to find a cute way to get the "real" meaning of the season out and we feel this will be the perfect way.  I love tradition and this will be our new Easter one!!!
