How in the world was I to celebrate July 4th without any UFC fights? I mean, come on COVID-19 haven't you had enough of terrorizing the world? Lord knows I'm tired of seeing your ugly face, yet here we sit on the verge of a second surge! Ugh!! Normally, International Fight Week takes place over the holiday and they are pretty awesome fights to watch, too! So, needless to say I was pretty disappointed. I'm so over all this coronavirus stuff, I truly am! However, we embraced the time and made it a family, fun weekend. There's just something about the 4th of July! I love it!
The virus, unfortunately, did shut down our town's annual festival and parade, but again we took it all in stride! Hey, atleast the fireworks were still happening! So, with no fights and no festival, it did give us the opportunity to spend the holiday over at my sister-in-law's place and take part in their annual celebration to watch the fireworks & enjoy some good food. I wasn't too sure how Colin would do with all the sounds when it came to the fireworks, but that kid did great. He absolutely loved them! It turned out to be a nice evening with family and friends!
Yes, we had another interruption to our normal...thanks to COVID-19; however, it turned out to be a great family weekend celebrating the 4th of July anyway. We are really learning to embrace all this craziness and just go with the flow. I mean, what else are we to do? The world is nuts at the moment and I refuse to give into the fear! So, I'm choosing to enjoy what these minor inconveniences are bringing to my life and creating memories that will last a lifetime w/my guys!
