Well, hello....it's been quite awhile since I've posted, sorry about that, but this summer has been going and we have been enjoying every ounce of it. It's hard to believe this is the last summer before we have to get a new 'normal'...with Ethan starting school in a little over a month, I'm not sure how the days will pan out, but he goes all day, all 5 days of the week, so this will be interesting and definitely something to get used to. However, he's ready and so excited, so off he goes growing up =/
Colin on the other hand, we've decided to take a step back and give him some more growing time. I'm not afraid of the end result, but we just feel that little guy needs some more time to spread his wings and fly a little bit. I know what the books say and where all the "typical" kids are at this point, but slowly he's showing us that he's getting it and on his own time, so why not give him the chance to "get it"! If at the end of this journey we are still faced w/ Aspergers, then so be it, but at least I'll know, as his mother, I/we gave him the opportunity to do it on his own....what if he's just a "late bloomer"??? Anyway, he has a sedated hearing test next week, so after that, he'll be done for awhile and will get that opportunity! Since Ethan will be going to kindergarten, Colin will get more time w/ mama, so we can get more bonding time and I'm so excited about that....I've never been able to give him one on one time, like Ethan got for 2 years, so this is truly something I am looking forward to. So, with all that being said, he won't be going to PreK just yet; instead he'll be home w/ me and also at the sitter during the week. I keep praying things go the way I'm hoping and I feel God has brought us to this point, giving us the opportunity to just breath, and we're taking full advantage =)
Anyway, as I mentioned we are enjoying the Summer! It's been a scorching season for sure, so we are surrounding ourselves w/ sprinklers, blow up pools, squirt guns, and water balloons. Trying to beat the heat has been fun though, so no complaints here. Well, until next time, hope you all enjoy your Summer!!!!
