Life During COVID-19

It has certainly been a weird few weeks, since all this COVID-19 stuff hit home. Businesses shut down, people laid off, boys are remote learning, and now we're told the next 2 weeks will be "our Pearl Harbor or 9/11 moment." This has led to wearing masks when we are out in public, as well. I haven't done that, but I'm not against it. I get it this is scary and weird, but safety is so important. I hope we can get back to some form of normalcy soon?!?

Last week, was my first week off work, so I embraced it and got right into teaching my boys. Ethan, has surprised me, because I was thinking it would be so hard for him; however, this child is handling this like a champ! Not 1 time have I had to remind him or even get on him to get his work done. He sets his alarm, so that's when he gets up, gets dressed, and comes downstairs to start his day. He doesn't want to fall behind, so when this whole thing started he stated he would handle each day and not stop until it was finished. So far, he's done just that.  I can't even begin to tell you how much of a relief this is! He's doing amazing and that helps this mama so much during this time.

Colin, he's doing great too! He likes that there's "no school" per say. I've had to handle everything here at home as "homework" because that is what he relates to learning from here. So, when it's "homework" time we gather at the dining table to watch Mr. Wells, say the pledge, then start on what Mrs. Jones has planned for the day. Her daily schedule has helped me so much keep Colin on task. He's doing really well and I'm kind of hoping this remote learning will continue through the end of the year, because I don't think I'll get this kid back to school without a fuss....LOL!

Anyway, we've been embracing this pandemic here at home. Though it's definitely the strangest thing we've ever been through at this level, but we're so thankful for our health and slowing down to be with each other even more.

Here's a peek into our last couple of weeks....
