And, just like that golf season is over! The really weird thing, is we literally just started talking about it, preparing for it, and getting a physical...oh wait, that was 2 months ago already! This child is literally growing into a man right before my eyes! Is it possible he's changing drastically every single day these days? I mean not only is he 6' tall, size 12 men shoe, but yesterday we had to say goodbye to Jr. High golf! Yes, his 8th grade season is done! How is this possible? Now, don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying this season of life we are in, but I wouldn't mind if it would just slow down a touch!😢
Ethan, had a good season! Overall, made some major progress from last year and from what the statistics show he took 10 strokes off his game. He has some incredible golfers on his team and up against some great individual stats, but together these boys made a great team and had an awesome season! My golfer, makes me so proud! I didn't get to see him in his matches this year, b/c Colin is not able to go to the matches just yet (we'll get there), but daddy took some great photos and videos to help me be a part of the game that Ethan has fallen in love with.
Over the past year, Ethan has really put in the work and has overcome some challenges, as well. There's always room for improvement, but he's really matured this year! His perseverance, truly, is what I'm proud of most! I'm just so stinkin' tickled that he found something that he enjoys and chooses to do on his own. We don't have to hound him to practice above and beyond what he's required to do, no, he asks to go to the course on a Saturday or Sunday. Now, he has a dad who's pretty intense, so Ethan's biggest challenge is that! LOL! I had to have some heart to heart talks and Ethan had to let his dad know that his intensity makes him nervous and does impact his game, so Brenton had to adjust his approach. Not a big deal, just had to be brought to the surface and talked about. Communication, is the best and needed sometimes! Now, those 2, have it all figured out and just in time too.
Last night, Ethan's last match, came down to him! Yep, his score was the tie breaking score to help the Braves defeat Dover. How awesome is that! I've always told Ethan, "you play your game, b/c it might just come down to you" and sure enough it happened last night! That kid was so happy, Daddy was so proud, and we were cheering at home for his accomplishment too.😊 Moments like that are what build confidence in children whom just need a little extra boost in that department and my Ethan, sure did walk into the house a little taller last night! And, that, sure did make my momma heart swell with happiness for my boy!
Great season Ethan! IVC Champs! Daddy and I are so darn proud of you and love you to the moon & back.....
